Alternative rock, jazz with Latin American rhythms and pop music at FITS 2017!

De Staat is a Dutch alternative rock band, which made its debut in 2009 with the album “Wait for Evolution” and, shortly after, it was present on all the major stages and festivals in the Netherlands such as the Lowlands and Pinkpop, and attended international festivals such as the ones in Sziget and Glastonbury. In 2013, they released the album “I_CON”, which was distinguished with the Edison Award, the most prestigious music award in the Netherlands.

De Staat has consistently launched innovative and highly-acclaimed music videos. Among them, “Witch Doctor”, “Pep Talk” – a daring, confusing and funny video, “Sweat Shop”, “Get It Together”, “Make A Call” and many others. With its captivating rhythm and electro inserts, as well as bursting energy, the Dutch band always offers explosive concerts.
The event is scheduled on 11 June at 10:00 p.m. in the Big Square.

Born in Mexico and currently living in Montreal, Quebec, Mamselle Ruiz will enchant us with Latin American and jazz rhythms in the Big Square on Friday, 16 June, at 10:30 p.m. Her music is influenced by her own blend of cultures, from the North to the South. Mamselle has been distinguished with several awards in Canada, and Radio Canada has named her a “revelation” of the “world music” genre. Her charismatic figure, stage presence and magnetic attraction, as well as her raw, emotional performance, have opened her way to the famous Cirque du Soleil, with which she performed a series of concerts.

You have certainly heard the famous hit “Castle in the Snow” by Kadebostany. Her Swiss band, set up in 2008, has its own visual and stylistic identity as reflected in their dramatic live shows and music videos. A golden empire surrounded by endless desert landscapes – it is on this setting that the majestic pop music conquerors come to the front accompanied by new sovereign figures. Innovative music, exquisite aesthetics and a sophisticated live show will contribute to the best music experience pop fans will ever enjoy, and there is more to come: the event will take place on the last day of the festival, 18 June, at 10:15 p.m., in the Big Square.
