Exciting, extreme, exhilarating drumming show! TAGO means ‘lighting up the world by beating drums’. We create our shows based on a theme of ‘Buk’, a Korean traditional drum. We play a mixture of Korean traditional instruments – from gigantic drums to small percussion-with martial arts movements. Our music is very sexy, intense and sophisticated. We try to make our music so that it lasts long in people’s hearts and memories are created after listening to it or watching our shows. The Korean traditional music called ‘Gugak’ has been with us for more than 1,000 years with its identity. It has experienced many changes from the Korean ancient times up to this day, so to shape the Korean music. The music we play now is, I can say, the survivor from what has been handed down from our ancestors during our five thousand year history. What we pursue for our music is to harmonize our traditional music with the modernized touch. [Review] It all feels raucously enjoyable – even the couple next to me who had accidentally ended up in the wrong show were on their feet applauding. “powerful and utterly graceful” The Scotsman “an utterly exhilarating display of precision movement and visceral percussion” The Times
Event not recommended under the age of 3
