SPECIAL CONFERENCE MIRCEA DINESCU
Mircea Dinescu is a poet, journalist, wine producer and television personality. Since 1971 and so far, he has published dozens of books in the country and abroad, his poems can be read in Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Sweden, France, Bulgaria and Serbia. For his literary work, he earned numerous national and international prizes and awards such as the Romanian Academy Award or the Herder Prize. He made history as the first man who announced a revolution on the television, Mircea Dinescu was the president of the Writers' Union between 1990 and 1993, he founded the political satire magazine „Academia Caţavencu”/ ”The Caţavencu Academy“ (1990 ), „Plai cu boi“/ “Field with Oxes” ( 2001) „Aspirina săracului”/ “The Poor Man’s Aspirin“ (2003 ) and was a member of the National Council for Study of the Securitate Archives (CNSAS), from 2006 to 2012. He is currently editing, together with Doru Buşcu, the entertainment magazine ”Caţavencii”. One of the most recognized figures of the Romanian civil society, Mircea Dinescu has frequent television appearances and articles with a strong critical position, standing out due to his maverick style, acid and sometimes brutal honesty.
