Military Music of the Naval Forces Constanța - Live Concert

MILITARY MUSIC FESTIVAL - SIBIU 2026

The Romanian Naval Forces Military Band represents an essential component of the military tradition and identity in the Constanța Garrison, combining artistic values with military discipline in a way that reflects the spirit of the Romanian Navy.

Its modern origins date back to the 1950s, with the establishment of the first naval military band in Sulina. Over time, this ensemble developed and was reorganized into distinct units in Constanța and Mangalia, actively contributing to military ceremonies and official events throughout the region. Across the years, military bands in Dobrogea underwent an extensive process of expansion and restructuring, ultimately leading to the formation of a single representative ensemble of the Naval Forces.

However, the tradition of military music in Constanța is much older, being documented as early as 1880 through the Military Band of the 34th Infantry Regiment, which played an important role in the cultural life of the city by performing regular concerts. During times of conflict, military musicians demonstrated not only artistic skill but also dedication, taking part in support operations alongside combat units during World War II.

Today, the Romanian Naval Forces Military Band honors all military ceremonies and numerous civilian events through its distinctive brass sound, both in the Constanța Garrison and beyond.
