Military Music of the Brăila Garrison - Live Concert

MILITARY MUSIC FESTIVAL - SIBIU 2026


The Military Brass Band of Braila garrison was founded in 1958, at its conductor’s desk having succeeded over the years conductors like Colonel Alexandru Turcu, Colonel Andrei Gheroghe, Lieutenant-Colonel Ionel Ghiocel and Colonel Petrea Gogu. The numerous promenade concerts performed within the city parks and concerts halls as well as the extensive repertoire approached comprised by marches, waltzes, overture, folk and pop music adaptations have caught-up to the full the public’s interest, who praised the quality of the concerts offered every single time. In what concerns Braila Military Brass Band record, we can point out the participation at numerous international festivals, such as Poland - Cracovia in 2000, 2001 and 2002; Italy - San Remo in 2002 and 2004; Germany - Regensburg and Bayreuth in 2003, 2005, 2007 and Hanovra in 2004; France - Calais and Albertville in 2004 and 2010, Bulgaria - Veliko- Tarnovo in 2022 and also Musikparade 2023 and Bremen Tattoo 2024, where Braila Military
Brass Band represented Romania at the highest artistic level. 

During the time, Braila Military Brass Band developed a daily-basis collaboration with the Braila’s Children Palace, Traditional Folk Dance Ensemble ,,Mugurasul’’ led by the master choreograph Epure Marius-Sandrino, Traditional Greek Dance Ensemble ,,Pandora’’ led by Mr. Haraga Constantin, The Military House Cheerleader Band, and also with vocalists and popular dancers from the region. 

We must emphasize that Braila hosts annually many international music festivals such as: The International Canto Competition Festival ‘’Hariclea-Darclée”, The Pop Music Festival ,,George-Grigoriu” and, finally, The International Military Brass Bands Festival which represents, until this year, the only military music festival held in our country, broadcasting over the fame of Romanian military music and army, hence the city. Starting from 2018, the command of Braila’s garrison Military Brass Band was assumed by Captain Raul-Ionut Badale.
