THE MARRIAGE PROPOSAL
DIRECTOR: Robert Raponja
SCENOGRAPHY: Carmencita Brojboiu
STARRING: Ofelia Popii, Pali Vecsei, Adrian Matioc

Natalia Stepanova knows the tortuous road to marriage when her suitor, Lomov – a hypochondriac and suspicious character – conjures up the courage to propose. Instead of the bond between them developing into harmonious love, tension grows between the two, culminating in a real scandal, due to the fact that they are always in contradictory positions. Their quarrels, in fact, produce mental and physical suffering: Lomov's heartbeat is more alert, he feels as if his legs are no longer supporting him, his eyes are twitching; Natalia suffers from panic attacks.

Courtship becomes a war of characters, and the absurdity of relationships outlines both the need for relating to others and the need for love, both of which are vital for mankind.
