The 33rd edition of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival presents 848 events over ten days dedicated to theatre, dance, music, circus, exhibitions and much more. More than 5,000 artists from 83 countries are taking part in this year's Festival.
As every year, throughout the Festival (19–28 June), FITS presents FITS Recommends, a daily guide highlighting some of the day's most exciting events, helping audiences in Sibiu make the best and most inspiring choices.
On 20 June, the second day of the Festival, audiences are invited to attend the Special Conferences featuring Cristian Măcelaru in conversation with Octavian Saiu and Luk Perceval in conversation with Matei Vișniec; Sex, Money & Hunger, directed by the acclaimed Luk Perceval; The Metamorphosis, directed by Yuri Kordonsky and nominated in two categories at the 2026 UNITER Awards; One Night with Morricone, produced by Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto; Swinging, a spectacular flying trapeze performance; and a live concert by Bere Gratis in the Grand Square.
The second festival day features performances from nearly 20 countries, almost 20 free outdoor performances, 5 productions streamed online, and tickets starting at only 30 RON.

Sibiu International Theatre Festival: 848 Events and 5,000 Artists from 83 Countries
The Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS), one of the world's largest and most important performing arts festivals, takes place this year from 19 to 28 June. The 33rd edition, held under the theme SOUL, features 848 events and welcomes more than 5,000 artists from 83 countries.
This year's theme – SOUL – highlights the idea that beyond technology lies the human soul, whether it belongs to the artist or the spectator.
The FITS mobile application includes the complete Festival programme, allows users to personalise their schedules and offers many additional features. The app is available free of charge on both Google Play for Android and the App Store for iOS.
