“Words are not enough to express suffering, a miracle, great happiness, or joy. They inevitably end in clichés. At one point, Jon Fosse says that writing is equivalent to praying. In our everyday lives, or in our struggle to move forward, we are sustained by the thought that from darkness we advance toward the light. There are many things within this darkness: all that we do not understand, and all the dead ends we encounter along the way. From a physical perspective, we all disappear; the question is whether we trust in resurrection. I dedicate this performance to the memory of my wife, Tekla Tordai.” - Gábor Tompa, director of the performance
