At a wedding anniversary party in a fancy restaurant, the customers at two tables, joined by a strange, excessively talkative waiter and the owners of the restaurant, get to interact. As the evening progresses, the characters - through discussions of money, power and love affairs - unwittingly reveal the hypocrisy and inner emptiness that define their lives. The end of the play does not give a clear conclusion, but emphasizes the existential emptiness of the characters, criticizing a society obsessed with appearances, consumerism and social status.
An incisive social critique of the superficiality of contemporary society.
