The colors of a festival: FITS 2013

TVR 2 mirrors the magic of the 20th edition of the International Theatre Festival in Sibiu through a special documentary. The documentary premiere will air on Thursday, February 6th, at 9 p.m.

The documentary which was produced by Sînziana Miloșoiu takes us into the backstage of the most important festival of performing arts in Romania, offering a provocative perspective over the world surrounding us through a series of dialogs with the guests of the 20th edition of the International Festival in Sibiu. Resembling a journey – a dialog around the world – the documentary produced by TVR invites the viewers to discover throughout a series of 10 episodes the performances of some of the most renowned theatres in Europe, Asia and America, the works of great directors and exceptional artists in the field of performing arts nowadays.

“The colors of a festival: FITS 2013” manages to picture the diversity of the program in Sibiu and the vivid atmosphere of the festival through a series of portraits of personalities such as Eugenio Barba, George Banu, Constantin Chiriac, Bernard Faivre D'Arcier, Declan Donnellan or Jean Jacques Lemêtre. The 10 episodes of this documentary will air as follows: Thursday, February 6th, 9 p.m./ Friday, February 7th, 12 p.m. / Saturday, February 8th, 7.30 p.m. / Sunday, February 9th, 9.20 p.m. / Wednesday, February 12th, 5 p.m. / Friday February 14th,  1 p.m. / Saturday, February 15th, 3 p.m./ Friday, February 21st, 7.30 p.m. / Saturday, February 22nd, 6 p.m. / Sunday, February 23rd, 6 p.m.

The 20th edition of the festival took place last year, between the 7th and the 16th of June and brought together over 2,500 artists and producers from all over the world who presented over 350 events in Sibiu over a period of 10 days. The International Theatre Festival in Sibiu probably represents the most complex annual festival in Romania, being acknowledged at an international level as the third performing arts festival in Europe from the point of view of its amplitude and dimension, after the International Festival in Edinburgh (Great Britain) and the Festival in Avignon (France).

The 21st edition of the International Theatre Festival in Sibiu will take place between the 6th and the 15th of June 2014.
