FITS Recommends a Nocturnal Walk in the Village Museum
The exhibition “Lantern Festival - China in 20 legends”, one of a kind in Romania, remains open until 4 August.

Launched and inaugurated in FITS 2019, the exhibition “Lantern Festival - China in 20 legends” can be seen at the ASTRA Museum until 4 August 2019. A unique event in Romania, the exhibition presents 20 lantern installations inspired from Chinese history and mythology. Each evening, from Wednesday to Sunday, elements specific to the Chinese culture - dragons, panda bears, birds, exotic animals and plants - create a dream-like environment on the alleys of the ASTRA Museum in Sibiu.

“Lantern Festival” is a centuries-old tradition which began during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 221 AD) and represents monumental images, filled with light inspired from history and mythology. The exhibition focuses on elements in the Chinese culture and the wonderful lanterns make for a unique atmosphere. This weekend, from Friday to Sunday, visitors will benefit from free guided tours (no added costs after purchasing the Museum ticket) on the route of the 20 Chinese legends. The tours start at 10 and 11p.m. at the Museum Multicultural Pavilion - main entrance to the Open Air Museum.
The exhibition remains open until 4 August, from Wednesday to Sunday, between 8 p.m. and 12 a.m.
