In 2006, the President of Romanian conferred him Knight of the Star of Romania National Order, “as a high appreciation of his special contribution in the field of religion history and for promoting the works of Mircea Eliade”, while, in 2015, the President of Italy conferred him the Stella della Solidarietà Italiana Order. “At present, Mr. Andrei Oișteanu is one of the most important personalities of the Romanian culture. We are delighted and honoured to host, in Sibiu, a conference, a dialogue about Sexuality and Narcotics in the Romanian Culture. History, Religion and Literature.” A prominent specialist of the history of religions, literature, important book and course author, Mr. Oișteanu holds numerous Romanian and international awards. A renaissance spirit, his dialogue suggestions include sensitive, but inciting topics, which, I am sure, will invite a very special audience in Sibiu, as it happened when we talked to another speaker of our special conferences, Mr. Dan Perjovschi”, Constantin Chiriac stated.

The conference is free of charge, subject to seat availability. Andrei Oișteanu will give autographs at the end of the conference.
Event organized by “Radu Stanca” National Theatre, Sibiu International Theatre Festival, Sibiu International Theatre Festival, LBUS Department of Drama and Theatre Studies, and supported by Habitus Bookstore.
