Live Concert Radio Elvis
Produced by: Radio Elvis
Pierre Guénard, Manu Ralambo and Colin Russeil are the three members of Radio Elvis, now promoting their second album. After a successful first album, Les Conquêtes in 2016, awarded "Best New Album of the Year" at 2017 Victoires de la Musique and a tour which had confirmed their fundamentals, Radio Elvis comes back with a sound that places itself between rock, punk and pop. The band listened a lot to Talking Heads and it can be heard, especially on 23 minutes, a piece that opens the pop assaults of the first part of the album, to the central pivot and epic Lost Prayers with its strings inherited from the Stones and its feverish song from the Black Desire of the beginnings. Affirming their style with greater ease, and an assurance that does not exclude fragility, the group tells the loneliness of large cities, capitals "turned all the same" as Bashung sang on the words of Manset. It is also Arcade Fire's Suburbs that this meta-modern loneliness sings with a mixture of risk and intimacy. The other great attraction of this intense album is its baroque and dark romanticism, with a Bouquet of Immortelles and poisonous flowers as though picked from Nick Cave's garden.
