Workshop of contemporary dance
with Michal Zahora
“Dance in general is the most complex matter. It includes human body, mind and spirit all at the same time. For that uniqueness to dance is to touch the life itself.”

Nature is in balance dynamic and not static. Human body is affected by gravitation and therefore the movement of human body is organized according to its weight centers. Rediscovery and implementation of this natural law within the body primarily harmonizes the movement, allow to use the full potential and rethink the use of energy (towards efficiency).
Michal graduated from the Duncan Centre Conservatory in 2003. Then he joined the Norwegian national company Carte Blanche (2003), Roberto Zappala’s company in Italy (2004) and the British national company Scottish Dance Theatre (2006-08), where he systematically focused on teaching and led seminars at various schools (London Contemporary Dance School - The Place, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance). He served as principal at the Duncan Centre Conservatory from 2009 to 2013. Michal is continuously involved in choreographic work which was regularly presented worldwide and received several awards. He created seven original works within eleven years. From 2008 he leads educational seminars and workshops for professional dancers, choreographers and teachers as well as participants of Czech nationwide events and showcase of dance amateurs and students of Elementary Arts schools.
