Octavian Saiu in dialogue with Emil Hurezeanu
Writer, journalist and presently the Romanian ambassador in Germany, Emil Hurezeanu graduated the Law School, “Babeş-Bolyai” University Cluj Napoca, and studies of international and strategic relations .in United States and Germany. He had an important activity at the Echinox cultural magazine starting with 1978, and subsequently as editor at the Romanian section from Radio Free Europe. He is awarded for poetry in 1979 (The Anatomy Lesson, volume published at Dacia publishing house, Cluj Napoca), followed by other books: Seven Poets from Sibiu (an Anthology of Lyrics, Bruxelles-Bucharest, 1992), The First, the Last (Poetry, Albatros Publishing, Bucharest, 1993), etc. In 1983 he establishes in Federal Republic of Germany. Starting with 1990 he has an intense publishing activity in Romania, he was the editing director of România Liberă and of the press group Realitatea-Caţavencu, the producer of highly rated TV shows regarding internal and international politics : My Romania, Head and Tails, Compass, The Evening Journal. He receives several honorary awards: Citizen of Honor of Sibiu (1998), the National Order “For merit” as Commandor (2002), the Cross Andrei Şaguna of the Mitropoly of Transylvania (2013), the Order “Faith and Virtue” as Knight, The Grand Lodge of Romania (2014), the Order “Crown of Romania” as Knight (2015). He is Doctor Honoris Causa of the Vest University from Timişoara and Andrei Şaguna University from Constanţa.
