Vama is one of the most appreciated and well-known rock bands in Romania. The band was started by Tudor Chirilă and Eugen Caminschi, the vocalist and guitarist of Vama Veche. Since 2006, since the moment Vama Veche split up, the two ex-members continued in the same spirit, together with Lucian Cioarga (drums), Dan Opris (bass) and Raul Kusak (keyboards), who several years later was replaced by Gelu Ionescu. Vama released their first album –„Vama”– in June 2008, in a live concert at Arenele Romane, and in May 2012 they released their second album –„2012”–, an album that focused more on rock and was more optimistic than their first, being extremely well received by the fans. „Perfect fără tine”, their last single, became the Song of the Year 2013 at Radio Romania Awards and ZU Music Awards. In 2013, Vama was awarded with Best Comeback at Media Music Awards and Best Live at Romanian Music Awards. Currently, Tudor Chirilă is one of the juries at „Vocea României”, and in the last season Tiberiu Albu, a competitor in his team, won the competition, and marked another success for Tudor.
