In an unknown battlefield, a frightened soldier is visited by his parents. They come in to share a picnic basket with their son, trying to make sense of the horrors around them. As time passes, the family faces an unexpected surprise. Another soldier finds his way, terrified and hungry, through the battlefield and ending up at the picnic. As they get to interact, the two soldiers, enemies, find out that they have a lot more in common than meets the eye. As the parents find more and more interest in these unusual circumstances, they end up questioning the legitimacy of everything that is going on around them. Finally, they devise a simple strategic plan in order to end the war at once. Unfortunately, this masterful decision unveils a tragic conclusion. All these events slowly unmask the absurdity of war and life itself, in a humorous and joyful manner.
