Sibiu International Theatre Festival proudly invites European Voluntary Service (EVS) volunteers from Austria, France, Luxembourg, Poland and United Kingdom to apply for a two month term between May- July 2010.

Sibiu International Theatre Festival, the third largest annual festival of performing arts by all parameters, offers every year to more than 60000 spectators daily a program consisting of participants from over 70 countries with over 350 events in 50 venues. This is a very rich and comprising cultural offer of productions from great Romanian theatres, major international productions, street performances in Sibiu and neighboring towns, theatre - dance performances (flamenco, contemporary), light performances, music, pantomime, conferences and debates, various exhibitions, workshops. All these take place both in conventional venues and unconventional ones and with the help of an international volunteer program. This event takes place under the high patronage of the President of Romania and of the Representative of the European Education, Training, Culture and Youth Commission.

Time is short and there are only limited seats available. We encourage you to take action by sending your CV and message of intention to apply to the program at voluntari[@]sibfest.ro now. Applications close on February 1^st, 2010. As soon as we receive your email we will connect you to a sending organization in your country and assist you through all administrative procedures. Please feel free to address all your questions and feelings regarding the program.

The main tasks of the volunteers will include:

Welcoming artists and guests, assisting them in practical matters in accommodation place;

Maintaining communication and relations with artists and members of the organizing network;

Providing assistance in the performances of the artists as a translator;

Providing assistance in organizing workshops and meetings;

Assistance to the activities of distribution, location maintainer

There are no specific requirements for volunteers, except they should not be younger than 18 years old. Also, taking into consideration the international dimension of the program, applicants should be able to speak and understand English. Economically disadvantaged applicants encouraged. We would be happy to work with young people who describes themselves as hard workers, disciplined with a mature attitude, flexible and capable of working under pressure on an irregular and frequently interrupted schedule, open minded and curious, commitment to simplicity when being accommodated, but most important willing to share experiences with youngsters around the world. Our volunteer program applicants also include a group of 100 Romanians and 15 Japanese.
