This production of the National Theatre in Sibiu is an abridgement after ”Oedipus in Colonos” and ”Oedipus King” by Sophocles and surprises by the force of its almost cinematographic vision which of the director’s montage which combines the real with the imaginary, developing a poetry of heartbreaking details. ”Oedipus is one of the most beautiful texts of dramatic literature. As noted before, I returned to the Greek tragedy after many years, which was an occasion to practice again my appetite to create the same images with which I had not worked for a long time“, the director declared, during the rehearsals in Sibiu.
Performance presented in Romanian, with translation into English.
