The series of stage exercises coordinated by director Silviu Purcărete takes on a fresh approach of Jonathan Swift’s novel, where fantasy blends in with a harsh political satire. Silviu Purcărete’s production reunites social and cultural aspects of the world we live in, having the support of an original musical score by Irish composer Shaun Davey, the creator of a musical suite for “Voices from the Merry Cemetery” (“Vocile din Cimitirul Vesel”). This is the 8th performance that Silviu Purcărete has staged at the National Theatre in Sibiu. “Gulliver’s Travels” is a cultural project that started off three years ago in a partnership with Edinburgh International Festival and is financed with the support of The Administration of the National Cultural Fund.
Performance presented in Romanian with translation.
