With extremely accurate body work, emotionally charged physical play, powerful songs, voice, cadence and frantic rhythms roaring percussion, the old woman, the mother is awakening from her suffering. The dark fate occurs to us as a back drop and the traditional spiritualties, shamanic dances, masks that move and vibrate under the influx of beating drums. She visits the spirit realm and thus we accompany beyond our own reminiscences. The performance is beautiful, mysterious and poetic. This journey takes from Korean folk songs, rituals, dances, masks and symbolic objects. Korean traditional costumes are also used during the production to represent characters. The different kinds of Korean traditional dances such as Salpuri and Muyong Chamand, the various Korean traditional music instruments including Janggu, Kkwaenggwari, Gong and Buk brought the mysterious and rhythmic heart beat and excitement in this melancholy tale.
Performance presented in Korean tih translation.
